The Liquid Information Organization was formed in 1997. We are concerned with the way our external mind spaces are developing- The human mind wasn't built in isolation, it wasn't intended to be used in isolation. The places we increasingly put our minds much of the day, are virtual, computer environments, they limit and expand our intellectual options. The connection, the flow, between people, information and tools need to become more fluid.
There is no one company developing this environment. There is no single network the information we work with flows through, no single set of applications and tools we use to manipulate the information. This is why our company is dedicated to seeing the potential of digital environments realized anywhere.
We represent the user. We represent you, unclouded by the day to day business of putting products together for the market. We represent the user who yearns to get the computer out of his or her way, to manipulate his or her thoughts and ideas- information freely. We represent this idealized intelligent but computer un-interested user but we have a clear understanding of todays IT environment. We put this firmly in the back of our heads, as we like to see it; like a race car driver zooming down the track must know all about driving technique to drive efficiently, but must forget it all to win.
The Liquid Information Organization is a virtual organization. Most of our directors work on different projects, and indeed are part of different companies when we are not working together on a specific project. We make no bones about it; it's a hard industry to find this kind of work in. Not many companies are mature enough to invite people from the outside for what amounts to philosophical focusing...
The Liquid Information People
Frode Hegland ~ Director and Founder
Born in Bergen Norway, he lived in Singapore for two years, after which he attended The Chelsea School of Art in London before joining the Norwegian Army for year. Syracuse University provided his advertising communications background. After leaving college he went to work for CKS Partners, a high tech design company in Silicon Valley, before joining the internet department of the public relations firm Hill and Knowlton in London. That was all well and fine, but his passion was in working to develop more fluid external mind spaces. Funky term. Funkier job :)

About The Site
This site was registered 22 of August 1995, when we first started working on projects together.
Thanks to UK for mentioning us in their November 1996 issue.
We were awarded way back in '95.
Cool-ly enough, we were Cool Centrals cool site of the hour once. (Christmas eve '96 actually!).
Technically speaking
The site is hosted by N-ary in London England.
It's put together with Adobe PageMill 1.0 through to 2.0.
To later be tweaked in HTMLEditor when necessary.
All images have gone through Adobe Photoshop at some point.
And all movies have gone through Adobe Premiere at some point too.
The animated gifs were created with Smart Dubbing.
E-mail to and from us is handled by Claris E-mailer.
